CLARENCE DARROW / A TWO ACT PLAY

The life and times of America's most renowned criminal trial lawyer.  This one man, two act play, takes us through the early years of Darrow's life up to his retirement.  It tracks all of his famous and infamous trials, to include his epic battles with William Jennings Bryan over the teachings of evolution, to his own battle after being indicted for jury tampering.  We see the ethical problems faced by attorneys, judges, and jurors, and review decisions made by judges in the smallest of cases to the most significant of the times.  In his presentation we sense the early stages of civility in the courtroom taking a turn for the worse.  We also see how judges struggle with decisions that reflect on jury verdicts and on more far reaching implications relating to social norms and mores.

Don Fiedler is an attorney of national repute.  He has been at the forefront of criminal litigation in his native state of Nebraska, and around the country.  He is also a much sought after CLE speaker as well as instructor at national seminars and symposiums for well over two decades.  He is most known however as an actor of national stature, having performed all over the world, in this, and other roles, such as William Jennings Bryan.
